About Mike Dickerman

Professional Life

I  have been working in the web development industry for 14 years and my primary focus has been helping clients in the areas of internet positioning, marketing and visual communications. With well over 1,500 completed projects I’ve gained incredibly broad industry experience and as a result – a wide range of capabilities.

My entire career has been spent developing corporate internet solutions, business applications, broadcast media and internet marketing programs for a wide variety of clients and industries in the Southeast.

My company is called Overwatch Consulting but my clients know and work with me on a one-on-one basis and for that reason my website bears my name and not my company’s legal name.

Prior to my career as a freelance consultant, I co-founded and led Genesis Internet, a Charlotte, North Carolina based web design and development company for 10 years.  Genesis Internet was named in The Charlotte Business Journal’s top 20 web firms for 6 years in a row and was the recipient of numerous regional and national design and development awards.

I work directly with clients and individuals who have been referred to me by my existing client base and also provide “white-labeled” design and production services to other web and creative firms.

What do my clients think of me?

“Mike is a business-minded artist. I’ve worked with dozens of designers over the years and Mike is in the top 5 in terms of quality of the design, capturing the client’s desired design aesthetic and delivering it quickly and on budget. He has kept his skills up to date and shifts as the trends shift so his designs are always on the leading edge of the industry. It’s a pleasure to work with him.”

Personal Life

I was born and grew up in Latin America, the son of career missionaries and had the privilege of living for almost 20 years in Colombia, South America.

I currently live in and work in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, and am married to my high school sweetheart Laura. Together we have four beautiful daughters who keep our lives busy, happy and very interesting.

In my downtime I work with  The Abandon Project, a nonprofit organization that focuses on serving underprivileged communities in the US and Latin America through mentoring, education and humanitarian aid programs.
